Tasting Notes
We’ve been sourcing a few varietals from Carlson Creek Vineyard for the past four vintages now and have been impressed with the fruit quality and the way the Carlson’s are improving their game every year. It’s always exciting to learn the character of a new vineyard and we feel like we’re really getting to know this one. Everything we source from CCV seems to have more intense, inviting aromatics and fuller, richer palates than their counterparts from other vineyards. The nose leaps out of this Syrah with a beautiful balance of fruit, earth and spice. The palate reflects this balance and adds an interesting walnut- skin note so common of this varietal in our high-desert vineyards. Only two barrels produced.
